Working Words
Words that work for you

About

My fascination with the written word started with a college degree in Creative Writing. I knew I would
succeed by using my writing skills--I just wasn’t sure how.

Editing books

I started my career in book publishing, editing books of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and reference texts. I tried to retain the author’s voice, while making sure they said what they meant to say. My passion for writing and editing was cemented.

Editing technical documents

The first time I formatted a word to make it bold, I was hooked on computers. Editing technical documentation made sense after editing books, and I succeeded at reaching a new and growing audience.

Creating resumes

I found that I was also good at promoting people’s skills. I started writing resumes for developers, project managers, and other employees from a small start-up company in California. After they all found new jobs, I continued creating resumes for the skilled
and not-so-skilled.

Writing web content

With my passion for technology and words, writing web content was a natural next step. Be sure to visit my blog!

I take a different approach when writing successful web content, editing technical documentation, and creating resumes. In each case, I make every effort to reach an audience just waiting to be informed, entertained, and encouraged. I implement both new and traditional ideas, tools, and features to express myself and help others do the same.
